Laser cutter

About two weeks ago i used the laser cutter to etch some imagery into one of my woven samples. Here is an image.

The result?

Several burn holes where the laser set fire to the fabric. Personally i quite like this 'happy accident', Not that it wasn't alarming to see my work begin to disintergrate.

I've been working on my drawing recently and working with different materials, this is an image of my lovely studio space. It helps me to concentrate when i am surrounded my my works.

I'm currently working on threading my second warp. It will be a double cloth this time on an 8 shaft loom. Hoping to produce lots of pleated fabrics.

Rusty warp

This is my lovely rust dyed cotton warp, then painted with logwood and iron water with thin strands of viscose running through.

Inspiration

What now?

I am currently exploring the process of weaving fabrics, my colour ways and materials have been inspired by the externals of cars, i have become increasingly obsessed with the way the metals have begun to rust. i'm nearing the end of my rust dyed warp and i may even finish it tomorrow!
